Open mic / jam nights

Post by ThinWhiteDuke »

Hi everyone... relatively new to the area, but have just bought a flat in Sydenham.

Me and the fiancée are looking for pubs or venues that do inclusive jam nights or open mics. Hoping to meet like minded musicians, singers and creatives.

Any recommendations?

I believe the Goldsmith's in Penge has open mic nights from time to time...

Goldsmiths in Penge every first Thursday and Bridge House in Penge every first Tuesday. I've been to latter a few times and the quality of acts is pretty high.

Apart from the ones mentioned above...

The open mic night at the Paxton Centre (Crystal Palace/Anerley-ish) is very well regarded.
A few others in Crystal Palace, come to think of it.

I think the Crooked Billet in Penge was planning on doing an open mic night, dunno whether it ever came to anything.

Couple in this feature that aren't too far away (e.g. Catford, Bromley): https://www.openmicuk.co.uk/advice/sout ... Oh3zkmE3yc

The Icarus Club at the Shortlands Tavern is very easy to get to from Sydenham (Penge East to Shortlands in 10 mins, or 15 mins on a bike)
