Sydenham Arts Platform Series - MariaM
Date: Friday 21 June 8pm to 10pm
Location: The Sydenham Centre, 44a Sydenham Road, SE26 5QX
Description: Hailing from South London, MariaM is a singer/songwriter, guitarist and storyteller who cites her Nigerian heritage as a powerful influence on her sounds and ideas. She brings gospel’s buoyant energy and soul’s introspection into her own unique brand of pop-folk music.

Sydenham Arts Film Club - Brokeback Mountain
Date: Thursday 27 June 7.30pm to 10pm
Location: The Sydenham Centre, 44a Sydenham Road, SE26 5QX
Description: On the eve of the Stonewall Riots Anniversary, we salute this landmark event with a showing of this timeless and classic film by Ang Lee starring Jake Gyllenhall, Michelle Williams, Anne Hathaway and the late Heath Ledger.

Doors open at 7pm. Licenced bar with food provided by Eli & Pie.

Sydenham Arts - Singing Workshop
Date: Wednesday 17 July 2pm to 4pm
Location: The Sydenham Centre, 44a Sydenham Road, SE26 5QX
Description: Another of our FREE bi-monthly events for our plus 60's and supported by Sydenham Assembly funds. Our Singing Workshop is led by singer, composer and conductor Katie Rose who loves helping people sing.

Doors open at 1.45pm. FREE entry but donations very welcome. Tea, coffee and cake available.

Sydenham Arts Platform Series - Stunflower
Date: Friday 19 July 8pm to 10pm
Location: The Sydenham Centre, 44a Sydenham Road, SE26 5QX
Description: World music provided by the band Stunflower who according to their web page 'bring a transformational, eclectic sound with a unique and heartfelt quality'. Influences gained from reggae, rock, dance, funk and world delivered with heartfelt feeling and infectious warmth.
