local wifi networks

Can anyone give me the password for any of the following WiFi networks that are used in this area?

UrbanAngels – this is supposed to be available from Cisco, but the one I found doesn't work.

SKY65052

Netgear

dkr

Frances

GetYourOwnInternet

I am on BT but can connect only spasmodically through my hub.

Those look like people's personal wifi networks, not public ones. If you want the passwords, I suggest knocking on your neighbours' doors and asking for them!

If you are on BT you can use private BT wifi networks through the BT app IF those people have agreed to be part of the BTFone network.

'edimatrix_plus' is part of the BTFone network, although I doubt it will be much use to you unless you are waiting at the Newlands Park lights! I am happy to allow it to be part of that network since BT restrict the throughput to less than 1% of the 70+Mbs I get, and it is not counted as part of my bandwidth usage.

BT have now sorted out my broadband connnection with considerable inconvenience to both of us, but is anyone going to answer my question just in case I need it again?

I thought I had answered your question - those networks belong to your neighbours and if you want the passwords, ask them. They are not public networks.

I am a BT Internet client. I can therefore also access the unsecured bt networks BTWiFi and BTFon. Those others mentioned will have a padlock sign = secure/private. Most people would not share the network password.

Anyone who does ANY financial transaction online or shares ANY personal information via their wifi through email or internet interactions (i.e. pretty much every single one of us) would be very unwise to give access to their network to a stranger.

BTFon works by sharing a tiny part of your bandwidth but not your actual network so it is safe to share. You have to agree to share your bandwidth first, then you get access to others who have also signed up to it.

If it is perfectly okay to let a stranger use your wifi, I wonder why wifi routers all come with built-in security to stop strangers using your wifi?
