Ravens In Sydenham

Post by Aurorablast »

Did anyone else see the pair of Ravens flying over Sydenham Hill this morning? They had an epic battle with a lone hawk. I do begin to wonder if they have a nest locally as it's not the first time I've heard them. BBC has a good link to the call if you want to identify them.

This is incredibly exciting. I'm going to try and photograph them. Wow. I love crows and ravens. They're like flying shadows. I find them mesmerising. Thanks for posting.

Paul - do you ever head down to the car park at the Savacentre? Crows galore, usually on top of my car.

There was what looked like a pair of ravens on the roof of my house last week.

Me too Paul! I was fair gobsmacked when I heard the call and then ran out into the back garden to see them duelling the hawk. We have a pretty amazing area here for biodiversity - Wells Oark has a Merlin, owls, and a family of sparrowhawks - as ye probably know being so close. But Ravens.... whoever gets a photo - please post!

Here's something I did quite a while back on crows.

I'm capable now of doing something more sophisticated and plan to soon.

I'd love to see some Ravens up here on Sydenham Hill. We have many crows who mob various birds of prey and seagulls.

One of the most amazing things I saw was a baby Greater Spotted Woodpecker that came to my windowbox just as I was sitting the otherside of my living room window.

Anymore sightings to report? Anyone?

I will set aside some time to explore this and report back.
