Have bought and sold a few times locally. I always sell through Property World. Family run local firm who are very helpful and attentive. Highly recommend them.

Re: estate agents to recommend: Pedder in Sydenham. We sold and bought through them and could not have been more impressed with their professionalism, efficiency and friendliness. Yes, we thought they overvalued our house because they suggested an asking price that exceeded all other agents' valuation by GBP 100000 - but they achieved that, and more.

Purely from a buyer's perspective, we also liked Robinson Jackson who were very courteous and proactive.

Wooster & Stock issued an apology to the client in question that afternoon, and whilst it was absolutely no excuse, Mr Wooster had received some very bad news just prior to the appointment. With hindsight, this should have been rescheduled to avoid what he admits was an unprofessional valuation. However, whilst he does admit his comments were unnecessarily blunt, he was certainly not aggressive.

The valuation was requested with regards to the property having been placed on the market at an unrealistically high price with another agent and Mr Wooster was asked for his honest opinion on its value. He felt the property was in excess of £150,000 over what it might achieve.

To reiterate, we apologise once again for this negative experience.

Regards,

As you will have noticed, the property prices in this area have spiraled out of control recently, which makes valuing properties even more difficult than usual. It is never an exact science, and sometimes us agents can misjudge the market, too.
