I'm full of admiration for Ellie who has been out and about campaigning whilst 9 months pregnant - anyone who's been 9 months pregnant will know this is no mean feat! Here's a piece she wrote for inews about the challenges of being heavily pregnant when a snap election is called - https://inews.co.uk/opinion/maternity-l ... ves-824719
I've also just seen her tweet that she's been getting some grief on social media about re-standing for parliament whilst pregnant - https://twitter.com/elliereeves/status/ ... 76097?s=20. Although I haven't seen any evidence of this directly myself, it's obviously completely unacceptable that she should be coming under fire in this way.
I was interested to read about Stella Creasy appointing a locum to cover her constituency work for 6 months whilst on maternity leave, the first official maternity cover ever appointed for an MP (https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/lo ... 79186.html), and wondered whether that's something that Ellie might consider (in the likely event that she's re-elected)?
