Next, the last major retail unit in the Bell Green retail park, opens 10am next Thursday 8th May.
The 10,000 sq ft unit will house both home and fashion. The 200,000 sq ft park is owned by Kier and National Grid after the original redevelopment company went bust no thanks to the delays and high cost of dealing with very high levels of toxic material remaining in the soil. The site was the scene of a long thirteen year battle by the Sydenham Society to prevent the former Bell Green Gasworks land adjoining Sainsbury’s SavaCentre becoming a retail and business park.
