Classical music lovers now miss the stupendous annual Sydenham International Music Festival conducted and directed by Robert Trory between 2002 and 2011. Robert became ill and the Festival could not continue. He died in August 2013 and you can read some tributes here:
Sydenham Music, the festival organisers, have come back together for a memorial concert at 7.30pm on April 27 2014 in a new venue: St Philip Neri Church, 208 Sydenham Road, Sydenham SE26 5SE. This will feature Sergey Dogadin one of Robert’s favourite soloists who will also conduct the revived Sydenham International Music Orchestra composed of professional musicians from London’s major orchestras many of whom live locally.
