HELD AT THE NEW GENERATION YOUTH CENTRE, TAYLORS LANE
The headline news is:
- NO LONDON BRIDGE WEEKEND TRAINS FROM 2015 TO 2018
Due to London Bridge reconstruction as part of the Thameslink reconfiguration. There will also be no trains from LBG to Charing Cross services in 2015/16 and in 2016/7 Cannon Street services will not stop at London Bridge. Overground will take the strain with 2 additional services per hour from Crystal Palace connecting to the Jubilee at Canada Water and the Distct/Hammersith & City at Whitechapel plus trains will go 5 car. In 2018 Thameslink and Crossrail will put Sydenham back on the map as one of the best connected communities in South East London
- SYDENHAM ROAD DEVELOPMENT
On schedule to complete in September (Station Approach may take a little longer). Funds has been committed (but not yet tendered) for continuation from Mayow Road to Addington Grove. Budget is being sought from Addington Grove to Bell Green. Sydenham Society are objecting to the lack of consultation.
- ADAMSRILL SCHOOL DECANT TO HOME PARK
Plans for 7 classrooms and 210 younger pupils to be located in Home Park from September 2013 to December 2014 whilst the main campus is reconstructed are going out to consultation. There is a promise of legacy benefit to the Park. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for plans and details
- SAINSBURY APPLICATION FOR WINDMILL LICENCE
It is believed that the Sainsbury acquisition of The Windmill in Kirkdale is subject to a successful application for a 6am to midnight alcohol licence. Objections must be submitted by 11th June.

- SYDENHAM MOSAIC ON THE NARBORHOOD CENTRE
Installation is due to be complete this Friday. It will not be properly visible until the scaffolding is removed. When is not known.
- THE NEXT GENERATION YOUTH CENTRE
Is impressive and will be formally opened on Monday by the Mayor. Initially it will open 3 evenings a week but will build up into a 7 day operation. It is hoped that non-youth groups may be interested in sharing the premises during the day during term time. A Film Club was also mentioned …
- SYDENHAM ARTS FESTIVAL KICKS OFF ON JUNE 30TH
But Director Jonathan Kaufman didn’t get much time to tell us about it. There is a super 28 page brochure plus pull-out which compensates. Get one from a community minded retail outlet near you.
Most of the meeting was taken with people split at around twelve subject specific tables compiling possible priorities for consideration of discretionary assembly spend. These will be whitilled down by the co-ordinating committee for pitching and consideration at the next Assembly.
