Sports Direct is next in line to arrive in Sydenham
I'm young and never go in the shop, but according to their website Sports Direct coming to Sydenham - though it doesn't say when or where exactly its opening, they are hiring for managers at the branch. Toysrus has just started hiring and still no word on Next Home or Pets at Home but I guess its go...

Re: Borough wide 20 mph limit planned - allegedly
I'm confused. That map you posted shows Camden, Harringey and Southwark as planning to have 20mph. Lewisham is showed as more than 25%... Yes - seems I'd gone into a time warp back to my transport activist days when I lived in Southwark. It would explain the lack of anything on the Lewisham ...

Fly Tipping - Cobbs Court/Greyhound
I now live in the Greyhound flats after moving from Upper, I like it but there's one thing getting on my nerves - RUBBISH. Every night someone is using the walk way between the pub and flats as a tip. Right now there is what looks like a broken wooden shelf also paper, chicken boxes, platic bags ect...

London Road (Forest Hill) being pedestrianised?
Now I don't know if your aware but I was reading the S London Press and I found that the MP for the Forest Hill ward (which includes Upper Sydenham) wants London Road/South Circular through Forest Hill pedestrianised. Now I think this is silly for a number of reasons: Traffic would be diverted onto ...

Isn't that the third one now? Upper Sydenham and the one near the Hexagon HQ (if that is still open).

Re: THE FUTURE LIBRARIES PROGRAM
Lewisham was on BBC Breakfast this morning about the library's. Saying that we are one of a few national boroughs identified were people might have to take the library service into our own hands. One place even has a library and a pub combined.

Re: North Kirkdale area 20mph zone
I live on the other side of Kirkdale on this proposed area you mention and I think its unneeded, when was the last time a accident happened in this part of Sydenham? Fair enough you do get the odd idiot on Kirkdale speeding but its not common. This is just the council wasting money when it could (li...

Re: Which one of you is "darcy" on the east Dulwich forum?
Whoever you are, you're doing a cracking job of rubbing their noses in it! I second that, why are ED so up them selves - do they not remember that they live right next to Peckham? Sydenham has its perks and its downers, and thats what I like about it, not just people who think they are rich because...

Re: waitrose looking for location
I think Crystal Palace is boring and like Lee said, we have Sydenham station right next to the highlighted site with 12 trains and hour - Six go to Croydon - Called London's third finance centre. We may not have as many buses but our High Street and Station are more lively. I only ever go Palace to ...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM 1 SYDENHAM STATION
Yes I agree when I'm on the platform its just constant, but TFL wont listen. This is getting silly now - the Overground trains tell you to mind the gap - when there's no gap, but at least its not like stations on the rest of the East London Line the announcements are more louder and horrible sounding.

I'm starting to warm more to a Waitrose the more I think about, and yes I third that a stationary shop like WH Smith would also be great for the area.

Re: waitrose looking for location
I agree the quality of food is good but how do you know the 'overpricing' goes to the farmers? Some shops are just expensive for the sake of profit not farmers benefits. I agree that Sydenham needs more high end stores but they should be what the area needs, really how many people will leave a very ...

Re: waitrose looking for location
This would be good - but then again Sydenham has enough supermarkets: Tesco express, Sainsbury's (one of the biggest in the UK), Lidle and Co-op. Maybe a good fishmonger or a small Argos or something else would be better, but I would support a Waitrose.

Re: Keen cycle nuts in Sydenham ?
I think the Cycle hire is a great idea but apparently they are too heavy but I am thinking about joining the scheme as I din't really cycle and as for the Super highway, will there be any bikes to hire in Sydenham or will TfL just say Sydenham is not worthy enough?

Hi, sorry I haven't been on for a while, but I'd just like to say there is a new group on Flickr called Your Sydenham http://www.flickr.com/groups/1517264@N22/?added=5 . Its for everyone who has photos of Sydenham's worldwide to share their photos with each other. So far there isn't many, so if you ...
