Looking at twitter comments, I would think that a reply along the lines of 'its the one next to steptoes' kind of gives it away.

A licensing application is now on the window of the old Bluebell Woods pop up next to Steptoes on Kent House Road.

Let's hope it gets through.

Can you add positive comments to a licensing application to support it?

Will have to be a special track for me as it's so far away...not exactly nearby.
I'm banking/hoping for something good to come of the Alexandra...much more "my local"

Four fellas in high vis jackets were nosing around the Alex yesterday. I reckon it'll be open about October.

Great news about the Alexandra. I think Alex nurseries and the pub will really compliment each other.

I'm thinking slightly squiffy people going into the nursery for post lunch coffee and cake and crazy plan purchases and nursery shoppers going over to the pub for post purchase garden planning pints.

On the planning application for Kent House - I can't seem to find it - any ideas?

The alcohol licence application is live. Open for comments from those affected till 18th May, I think.

But no planning application yet live for 5 Kent House Road. If a planning application has been submitted any delay could be because it hasn't yet been validated by the Council. The Council often ask for more info from the applicant before a planning application goes live.

Bovine Juice, are you thinking of 7 KHR? There was an application for flats there + a very small cafe. I believe that was rejected on grounds of substandard living accommodation, rather than not wanting a cafe.

But you may know more than I. So apologies if I've misunderstood.

I hope the community supports this, they are a great business and I really hope they come. They would be a shining light in Sydenham, into same way 161 is a shining light in Kirkdale and Brown and green is a shining light in Mayow Park.

Every area needs a bit of sparkle.

Planning permission granted for the 12 rooms in the hotel but work has not commenced yet. I think we're looking at a November opening, possibly.

Is that Hotel or Hostel? I thought there was talk of the latter.
If do, I would have thought a very bad place to site over a pub...!

Any news on the Pub itself please?

I was chatting to the guy in the London Beer Dispensary on Friday and it's all go as far as he was aware, it's just going to take some time. They don't think they'll be open for a couple of months - this is in reference to the Sydenham bar not the Alex.

Fingers crossed

I don't get this thread. I've never heard of 'Late Knights.' Why does the prospect of them opening an establishment locally seem to be bringing normally sensible posters to the verge of orgasm?

Robin

The are a new small niche brewer based in Penge. Just behind the old Woolworth's in Southey Street,.

Must admit I have tasted most if not all their beers and they are very nice

However many nice beers at present. A golden age for small niche brewers.. Long may it continue.

They also run several pubs and bars and are expanding quite a lot. They love beer and community. What could be better?

Alas, no. This is no country for old men. The holy city of Byzantium is what I have sailed the seas and come to.
