Warning of "bogus official" scams

Post by alywin »

I see this week's News Shopper warns of a spate of "bogus official" scams - people claiming to represent Thames Water, or the utilities companies - in Penge. As I doubt these magically stop at the postcode boundary, I thought I'd pass the warning on here as well.

Remember, always ask for ID!

And a hopefully non-bogus visit from a Thames water man who fitted a water saving feature to the vaccum valve of our loos - free of charge. I presume this was a consequence of the re-fitting of all stopcocks/meters in our street.

But get one if you haven't and have a single flush lever. Transforms it magically into short flush or long flush by letting go/holding lever. A lot better than the old 'brick' method of saving water.

Stuart, what's the water saving feature for the loo? Just checked Thames Water www and all they show for the loo is the save-a-flush bag

Not got bricks in my loo, instead I've got water bottles and a large shampoo bottle :-)
