Hi Suella, whilst I cannot recommend an evening class, if you go on to the London Borough of Lewisham's website (or any Council I imagine - and I apologise if you've already done this) - they have a PDF download prospectus of all the courses that they cover etc. Hope this helps
There are various art courses run at the Brockley Rise Centre, SE23 just off the South Circular. I was considering a Life Drawing class there a couple of years ago, but never got round to it!
